The courts of the State of Florida have chipped away at the right of grandparents to have visitation with their grandchildren. For all practical purposes a parents right to care for their children as they determine is paramount over the rights of a grandparent. That means that if either parent denies a grandparent contact with grandchildren there is little that can be done about it. However, if the children are at risk with the parent or parents there are other options.
